If you hadn’t noticed, we’re a little hyped up over this delightful refreshment. It may be free of refined sugars, but it’s got us bouncing off the walls with excitement. The reason being that it’s always been such a struggle to find a tasty summer bevvie that won’t pack on the pounds. But not this ginger mint lemonade, oh no. It will actually help you get a flat belly. 

The mint adds a sugar free sweetness while aiding in digestion. The ginger is a powerful detoxifying spice that calms the tummy and lowers blood sugar. Together, ginger and mint are a delicious duo that’ll help you feel good, look good, and freshen your breath. BAM!

HOW TO MAKE GINGER MINT LEMONADE

Ingredients

2 cups boiling water

1/2 cup chopped mint leaves + a few extra whole leaves for garnish

1/3 cup minced fresh ginger

1/2 cup honey or agave syrup

1/3 cup fresh lemon juice + extra slices for garnish

1 1/2 cups cold water

1 1/2 cups ice cubes

Instructions

Boil the water in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped mint, ginger, and honey or agave. Let the mixture sit for about 30 mintues.

Strain the water into a large pitcher, using a wooden spoon or spatula to press excess liquid out of the mint leaves and ginger. Add lemon juice, water, and ice.

Serve in glasses with ice cubes and garnish with whole mint leaves and lemon slices.

TIP: On the weekend, take it up a notch with a splash of white rum! If you’re craving something fizzy, replace the water and ice with cold club soda.
