Five Paper Christmas Craft Ideas to Distract the Kids From Snooping Under the Tree
Posted by The VerMints Gang on 24th Dec 2015
It’s Christmas Eve, aka tree snooping day!
To keep the kiddies distracted from the holiday treasures that await, we’ve put together a list of super fun Christmas craft ideas. These DIYers aren’t just pleasantly festive, they’re also very simple to execute. That means you’re free to sip on mulled berry wine while you supervise. Win!
Embarrassingly Easy DIY Christmas Cards
This craft from The Life & Writings of Kate Baer is perfect for using up those last scraps of wrapping paper. Plus, Kate herself is admittedly un-crafty, so we’re sure the kids can handle this (as long as they’re old enough to handle scissors). Last minute homemade gifts for grandparents, check!
Paper Craft Christmas Trees
Why not have the kids set up a pretty holiday table centrepiece of colourful Christmas trees? Linda from the It All Started With Paint blog chose gorgeous patterned card stock for her design, but any heavy weight paper would do the trick. Try using plain white and have the kids draw their own designs using paint or pencil crayons. Voila!
3D Paper Snowflakes
These little delicacies are a teensy bit tricky, but the final result is so lovely. We love that this craft allows you to use up all those last bits of holiday wrapping paper. And when you’re done, throw a little ribbon around the top and you’ve got a gorgeous new tree ornament.
TP Roll Reindeer
How cute are these mini Rudolph decorations from Crafty Morning? The supplies are minimal and the possibilities are endless.
Kindness Cootie Catcher
Who remembers making these awesome origami future tellers? Well Bren Did had the amazing idea of redesigning the timeless kids activity with a generous holiday twist. Okay, so it’s not exactly a craft, but it’s paper, it’s easy, and it will definitely entertain the little ones. Totally works for us!
